MEET THE DOCTOR

A Fort Worth native, Dr. Studer has been practicing dentistry in Bedford since 1985.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX in 1981 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1985.  After graduation from dental school, Dr. Studer immediately began his practice in Bedford, TX. For more than 32 years, he has proudly served clients in the Mid-Cities and has recently expanded his practice to include a second location in Argyle.

Dr. Studer is an active member of his community and routinely volunteers his clinical skills at the United Way Dental clinic, sponsored by JPS Hospital. A member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Fort Worth Dental Society, Dr. Studer is a long time resident of the Fort Worth area. He currently resides in North Richland Hills with his wife of 27 years, Lori, and their two children, Harrison and Nina. A parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic community for over 20 years, Dr. Studer has been involved as an usher and volunteer. He is an avid endurance runner and long-distance cyclist. Beyond his love of dentistry, Dr. Studer enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.

His enthusiasm, combined with a kind heart and gentle demeanor, is a consistent presence within his practice. Dr. Studer confidently assesses each individual’s dental needs and concentrates on a more integrative approach, looking at the whole body health instead of just the mouth. He strives to attend advanced continuing education courses with his team members and is a true advocate for learning and teaching.

"I want to assure you that your smile and dental health is our passion. My team and I will care for you as we would care for our own families. I hope that you will trust us with your dental needs, as everyone deserves a beautiful smile. We look forward to meeting you soon!" — Dr. Mark Studer

PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

PREVENTING GUM DISEASE & TOOTH DECAY

  • Regular dental checks should be done twice a year at a minimum to maintain your dental health.

  • Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They require the tooth be kept clean and dry while the cavity is being filled and provide a bright smile that blend with the natural color of a person's teeth.

  • Fluoride is an important factor in dental health. Fluoride is found in most of our tap water, however, with the increasing trend of drinking bottled water, many of us are not getting enough fluoride to keep our teeth strong. Fluoride is particularly important to oral health of growing children as it has cavity-fighting ability.

  • Recommendations for good Oral Home Care include brushing your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, floss daily and maintain a healthy diet that limits sugary beverages and snacks. The doctor may make additional suggestions at your screening depending on your needs.

  • Regular dental checks that include oral examination are important in maintaining healthy tissues as well as detecting cancerous and precancerous conditions. If a suspicious lesion is noticed, the dentist will inform you and a possible biopsy may be done to ensure proper diagnoses.

  • Dental sealants (or pit and fissure sealants) are professionally applied by the dentist or hygienist and form a protective coating on the biting surface of back teeth to prevent cavities. Sealants provide a physical barrier so that cavity-causing bacteria cannot invade the pits and fissures (grooves) on the chewing surfaces of teeth.

  • Dentists use X-rays to help diagnose damage and disease that is not visible during a clinical dental examination. How often X-rays should be taken depends on specific factors such as an individual’s current oral health, age, risk for disease and any signs or symptoms of oral disease.

MODERN DENTISTRY

FOCUSING ON YOUR HEALTH & WELLNESS

  • Conservative Bonded Porcelain Crowns are created to cover weak, damaged or broken teeth. And for your convenience, we offer Crown In 1 Day for beautiful, white crowns and veneers can be created in the office with limited follow up appointments.

  • Dental night guards may be helpful to prevent tooth grinding or clenching while awake or asleep and may be a solution to TMJ or sleep apnea.

  • Integrative Dentistry is a modern approach to oral health and wellness, which integrates oral health plus whole body health. You can't have a healthy gut without good chewing of healthy food with your healthy teeth. Integrative Dentistry combines alternative, holistic treatments with conventional procedures.

  • Invisible braces are a type of orthodontic treatment that help to straighten teeth without the use of the typical metal braces. They involves wearing a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that help shift your teeth into the proper position. For more information, please visit www.invisalign.com.

  • Nitrous Oxide is available at our office and can be used to help prevent patient anxiety it is administered while the patient is in the chain and is cleared from the patient’s system prior to leaving the office.

  • Poor sleep can contribute to high blood pressure, diabetes, weight gain, heart disease, gastric reflux, poor concentration, just to name a few. Getting enough hours of sleep has little benefit if the quality of your sleep suffers. Working with physicians from across the Mid Cities area, we can help determine the best treatment so that you achieve the sleep you need.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

IMPROVING YOUR APPEARANCE

  • Dental fixed bridges (or cemented bridges, not removable) are used to fill a space left between two or more healthy teeth. A dental bridge has one or more false teeth (known as a “pontic”) which are fused between supporting crowns to fill the area left by missing teeth. It is of great importance to keep the bridge and pontic area clean and the use of floss threaders will aid in this.

  • With 4 titanium implant screws on the top and bottom to hold it in place, these implant dentures are able to fuse to living bone and function as part of it. Eventually the denture becomes part of the jawbone, serving as a long lasting foundation for your new smile!

  • Implants are a permanent solution for those with missing teeth that don't like the shifting or care that comes with having bridges and dentures. An implant goes directly into the jaw bone and acts as a normal tooth would. Your dentist will work very closely with oral surgeons in all implant cases.

  • Dental inlays and onlays are restorations used to repair rear teeth with mild to moderate decay or cracked and fractured teeth that are not sufficiently damaged to need a crown. They are made from tough, hard-wearing materials which is very durable.

  • Nitrous Oxide is available at our office and can be used to help prevent patient anxiety it is administered while the patient is in the chain and is cleared from the patient’s system prior to leaving the office.

  • Dental porcelain veneers are laboratory fabricated thin shells of porcelain bonded to enamel surfaced of teeth to improve cosmetic appearance. Veneers can visibly change discolored, chipped, and worndown teeth. Usually at least some reshaping of the teeth is required to prepare them to receive veneers. Evaluation of the patient’s bite is necessary to do prior to beginning the veneer process.

  • Whitening your teeth can change your smile dramatically! Our Opalescence® Whitening System is effective in removing some or all internal tooth discolorations due to congenital, systemic, pharmacologic, fluorosis and as well as tetracycline discoloration.
